The history of Cherri Pow
Opening its doors in Jindabyne in 1987, Cherri Pow is hugely proud to be Australia's oldest snowboard hire shop.
With over three decades of experience in snow gear rental in Jindabyne, the Snowy Mountains and the New South Wales ski fields, we're renowned for stocking some of the world's largest ski and snowboarding brands, as well as some lesser known but equally as impressive ones.
There's not much we don't know about skiing and snowboarding equipment. As a Jindabyne family-run business, we've been a key part of the industry since snowboarding emerged as a snow sport in the 1980s, and we're still very much involved today.
Professional care
Cherri Pow's Hire Team Manager, Adam Lambert (Lambo), is a professional snowboarder.
He represented Australia in the Snowboard Cross at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, finished second at the 2017 World Cup in Val Thorens, France, and sixth at the Sierra Nevada 2017 World Championships. In 2019 he placed second in the event at the World Cup in Baqueira Beret, Spain, and he's currently on track to compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.
Adam's career as a snowboarder and expertise in the sport means only the best products make it to Cherri Pow's retail and hire shops. They're tried and tested by Adam, and given the Cherri Pow seal of approval by our expert staff team - undoubtedly some of the best riders and skiers in Australia.
